NGC 2170 is a heterogeneous nebula in Monoceros that has a variety of colors, textures, and shapes. It contains emission, reflection, and dark components.
Imaged by SSRO/PROMPT/CTIO in 2011 with a 16″ RCOS @ f/11.3 and an Apogee U9 on a Planewave 200HR mount. Image scale 0.41″/pixel. 9 hours Lum and 3 hours/channel RGB. Calibration in Maxim, alignment/integration in PixInsight, and the rest in Photoshop.
