NGC 1316, aka Fornax A, is a lenticular radio galaxy about 60 million light years away at the edge of the Fornax cluster of galaxies. The smaller companion galaxy to the north is NGC 1317, a spiral galaxy.

Imaged by SSRO/PROMPT/CTIO in 2016 using a 16″ RCOS at f/11.3, with an FLI 16803, on a Planewave 200HR. Image scale 0.41″/pixel. LRGB with 20 hours Lum, 14 hours Red, 12 hours Green, and 14 hours Blue, all unbinned. Calibration in Maxim, alignment/integration in PixInsight, deconvolution in PixInsight, and everything else in Photoshop.
