Residing at the “heart” of the Heart Nebula (IC 1805 in Cassiopeia), Melotte 15 is a beautiful colorful gaseous cloud, especially when viewed in the traditional Hubble palette that assigns the sulfur emission to the red channel, the hydrogen emission to the green channel, and the oxygen emission to the blue channel.
Technical Details as follows:
About 60 hours of data through Ha, OIII, and SII filters, acquired during the fall of 2019 using a 12.5″ RC at f/9 and SBIG STL11K mounted on a Paramount ME. Calibration was in Maxim, alignment/integration in PixInsight, and mostly everything else in Photoshop.
